Stay at Lletty and let your adventures begin ? sheepskinlife

Why do we love Lletty so much? It?s great for adventure filled family holidays ?

Family Holiday Home Lletty

Lletty is one of our favourite family and pet friendly hideaways, with stunning views of the Black Mountains from all rooms, the deck and the enormous garden. A welsh retreat perfect for family get togethers or groups of friends wanting to get away at any time of year.

When the Harper family approached us back in July looking for a large house for a long weekend away to celebrate their parent?s golden wedding anniversary we couldn?t help but shout ?Lletty is perfect for you!? ?They wanted to bring Doodle (their gorgeous chocolate?Labrador) as Lletty is pet friendly too it was booked and confirmed within minutes!

Everyone knows how precious time with family and friends is, no-one wants to waste time searching for the best places to visit and great places to eat. That?s why we put together a personalised guide for all of our guests as we have for this family. ?There was so much to see and do so we?couldn?t?resist wanting to share this with you?.

Day 1

The adventure begins when you reach the long dirt track which leads you to the house. ?A good 15 minute drive through the woods, when you think it can?t possible be this far into the woods suddenly in a clearing at the end of the track is sophisticated Lletty; an unexpectedly comfortable house in a peaceful place with a spectacular backdrop.

Stand alone,?incredible?panoramic views and no other house in sight!

Once you get to the house and decide who has what bedroom ? although the rooms on the first floor have the best, spectacular views across the valley to the mountains the master suite is a real haven where you can lie in bed and watch the sky day or night!

Anyone staying at Lletty spends a lot of their time in the open plan kitchen with its log burning stove, huge dining table and needless to say it?s a cook?s kitchen. ?This characterful kitchen / dining area is well equipped and spacious so we expect the Harpers will enjoy cooking special dinners for the family.

Lletty in a nutshell:

Bedrooms: A sleeps 6 property; 1 king en suite, 1 double, 2 twin?s
Entertainment: TV, DVD & DVD collection, Board games, WIFI internet, fire pit, tree swing and even a trampoline in the garden as well as a zip wire through the treesB&W Zeppelin iPod docking station in the main bedroom, 2nd one in the kitchen

Young Children: Cot, high chair & stair gates all available

We provide essentials such as milk, bread and butter and some tasty treats in our welcome hamper but it is nice to know your fridge will be stocked with at least your first night?s dinner when your arrive. ?The Harper?s have ordered Tapas selections from our delicatessen which will be waiting for them when they arrive so that their first night is all organised.

Day 2

After a relaxed breakfast on the decking outside the house its time to get out and about and explore the area.
Who doesn?t ?love a ride on a steam train? ?Especially one that takes you through valleys and beautiful Welsh countryside, . The Brecon Mountain Railway is a truly memorable and fascinating day out. It?s an hours drive from the house and the scenery leading up to the station is beautiful. The train ride takes 65 minutes, including a 20 minute stop at Pontsticill where you can picnic or visit their caf? and play area.
Ticket prices: Adults ?10.00, Children 15 yrs & under ?5.00.

On your way home, have dinner at the Red Lion, just 5 miles from the Lletty it?serves wholesome, hearty, local food in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone, we love the Welsh specials as well as the selection of steaks and fresh fish. It?s very reasonable and they welcome dogs with open arms, even giving them treats.

Day 3

The Red Kite Feeding Centre?at Llanddeusant, 6 miles from Lletty feeds flocks of Kites at 3pm every day during the summer and early autumn (March ? October) and 2pm at other times throughout the year. ?It?s a?spectacular aerial display?and fascinating to see more than 50 large birds, from the specially built hide only feet away from the diving birds,?soaring high into the sky and dive onto their food. In addition to Kites, Buzzards and Ravens may also join the fun!

16 miles from the door is Dolaucothi?Gold Mines, ?set on the wooded hillsides overlooking the beautiful Cothi Valley. ?Owned by the National Trust, they make sure you have a fun experience giving you all a hard hat before going on your underground tour?experiencing?the conditions of the Roman, Victorian and 1930s underground workings. Have a go at gold panning and take the opportunity to experience the frustrations of searching for real gold. All tickets are just ?1!

Because of Lletty?s stunning location there are lots of walks straight from the door, whether you want a short stroll or a walk taking several hours. You can walk pretty much anywhere in the forest and with your?OS Outdoor Leisure Map 12 or OS Landranger Map 160 you can choose a range of circular routes to suit your stamina. ??All our guests who stay with Sheepskin receive a personalised guide, detailing information about the house and it also contains suggested walks.

We hope the family enjoy their adventure as much as we loved planning it?.

You don?t need children to enjoy this great property, with three double rooms and a spacious living area downstairs its ideal for friends wanting to get away. ?If just the two of you looking for an extra special, secluded Autumn escape Lletty could be the solution too as we have just introduced a special rate for couples wanting a week away.
